On my first encounter with Rick, I found him to be creative, fair and a true partner. He and I were told by many that we could not complete this project in the time allotted. We did! I hope you will give Rick an opportunity to assist with your construction needs.
The past six months St. Paul’s Church has had the opportunity to have its new facility at 32 Rosscraggon built by Buchanan Construction. This project consisted of the renovation of an existing 12,000 sq ft warehouse with a new 4,000 sq ft second floor into a beautiful church facility. The project was completed on schedule and in the budget. There are many reasons this was a pleasant experience for all of us. Rick and his staff were honest, always cooperative and fair and kept our interest in focus. Our job superintendent, Tom, was responsive to questions and/or concerns and spent extra time as required to get the job done correctly. Coordination with city agencies, our building landlord, and subcontractors was well done and without any major difficulties. Paperwork and submittals were organized and presented in a timely fashion. It is with confidence that we recommend you consider Buchanan Construction for your next project.
Rick gave me excellent advice during our design. He knows value engineering because of his extensive construction experience. During the construction process I was very pleased with the progress. Rick and his job site superintendent were quick to recognize problems and/or potential problems, summons the necessary resources to solve the problem and move on. Rick also gave me good advice on change orders, weighing the extra cost versus benefit. If I was building another commercial/industrial facility, I would look forward to having Rick build it for me. I would unconditionally recommend Rick if you are searching for a General Contractor.
I have had the pleasure of working with Rick Buchanan since December of 2002. The first project we worked together on was a 21,000 s/f three-story turn-of-the-century mixed-use building located in Brevard, NC. The second project consisted of a 13,000 s/f restaurant located in Asheville, NC. Both projects were complex in their own way and architecturally very diverse from each other. Each project was completed with both the owner’s satisfaction and mine. I have formed a very trusting working relationship with Rick over the last five years and have come to rely on his honesty and integrity in providing services as a contractor. I trust his judgment and experience to help solve construction problems. Rick is very organized and keeps the job on schedule. I also feel that Rick is concerned with the final product and the integrity of work in place. As an Architect, I am very selective regarding whom I let bid my jobs and Rick is always on my short list of contractors. I can, without reservations, give my best recommendation for Rick Buchanan.
