On Monday, August 25, 2025, the rolling fairways of Champion Hills Golf Course in Henderson County came alive with the spirit of camaraderie and generosity for the 2nd Annual Ryan Hendrix Memorial Golf Tournament. This heartfelt event, held in honor of Ryan Hendrix—a beloved member of Buchanan Construction and a dedicated Henderson County Sheriff’s Office deputy who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2020—was a resounding success, raising over $45,000 for local causes and bringing together more than 100 participants, 40+ sponsors, and a dedicated team of volunteers.

A Morning of Warm Welcomes and Tasty Treats

The day kicked off bright and early with a warm welcome from our emcee, Jason Boyer, Chief Meteorologist at WLOS and delicious muffins and mouthwatering sausage and egg pinwheels, generously provided by Finch Grocery—a crowd favorite that fueled everyone for a day on the course.

Honoring Ryan Hendrix’s Legacy

The tournament was more than just a day of golf; it was a heartfelt tribute to Ryan Hendrix, whose life was defined by service, community, and love for the outdoors. Ryan, who worked alongside his brothers Jeff and Thomas at Buchanan Construction and served as a deputy, touched countless lives with his dedication. This event embodied his spirit, bringing together friends, family, and community members to celebrate his legacy.

A Community Effort with Big Impact

Thanks to the incredible support of over 40 sponsors, the tournament raised more than $45,000 plus fabulous raffle items. The funds raised will primarily benefit Henderson County Heroes, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting public safety organizations in Henderson County.

A special thank you goes to the volunteers from Buchanan Construction, Buchanan Restoration, and Hajoca, whose tireless efforts ensured the day ran smoothly. From setting up the course to managing registration and coordinating raffles, their dedication was the backbone of the event’s success.
