Hendrix Memorial
Golf Tournament
Launched in 2023, this special event is all about honoring Ryan Hendrix—a former Buchanan Construction team member, brother to two of our current employees, and a true hero who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our community as a Henderson County Sheriff’s Deputy in 2020. Together with the Hendrix family, we’ve created this event to celebrate Ryan’s legacy while having a blast on the course with friends like you! Proceeds have been donated to Henderson County Heroes and to aspiring Public Safety Officers enrolled in the BLET Program at Blue Ridge Community College.
Thanksgiving
Meals
As Thanksgiving nears each year, our hearts here at Buchanan are full. As a tradition, we deliver full Thanksgiving meals to various schools across Western North Carolina, who distribute them to families in need. In 2025, we were privileged to make a difference at 120 families’ holiday tables.

Appreciation Event
This event is our way of honoring and thanking our local law enforcement agencies, the Asheville Police Department and Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department, for their caring of our community. It’s the officers’ turn to be served back, with delicious food, fellowship, and raffles!

Tree
In our lobby near Christmastime, you’ll find our cherished “Angel Tree” adorned with ornaments, each representing a child’s Christmas wish list. We’re proud to partner with Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth & Families, helping to bring holiday joy to the children in their care. These children, ranging from infants to college-age, are lovingly supported by BMH, which works tirelessly to make Christmas magical and memorable for every one of them. Each ornament is selected by our staff to ensure a child’s wishlist comes true.
