Modern Treehouse Retreat in Brevard
This modern treehouse retreat embodies the homeowners’ vision of a serene, contemporary sanctuary nestled in nature. Retirees sought a haven inspired by a desire to embrace a sleek, minimalistic aesthetic, moving away from their traditional roots. Photos with furnishings and completed exterior landscape are coming soon but we wanted to share with you these photos where smaller details are easier to see.
Buchanan Construction’s interior design team crafted a space that reflects the homeowners’ goal of a tranquil “mountain spa” vibe. The palette features soft blues and greens, pulling in natural elements while maintaining a calm, uncluttered feel. The team’s attention to detail, such as iridescent blue waterfall tile in the master bathroom from Sonoma Tilemakers’ Vihara collection, underscores the spa-like tranquility the homeowners craved. A fireplace with Crossville tile mimicking wood and a functional wood storage box further ties the home to its natural setting while providing practical storage.
The intent to live minimally yet elegantly is evident in the neutral tones and statement light fixtures that avoid overwhelming the space, such as subtle orb lights in the kitchen and stairwell. These choices ensure the home feels organic and connected to its environment, with an exterior that blends seamlessly with its surroundings, preserving the natural landscape and offering a treetop perspective.
Beyond aesthetics, the design team considered lifestyle factors critical for retirees. The two-level home includes practical elements like floor outlets to keep cords hidden, enhancing safety and cleanliness. A theater room with a kid-friendly stage and a secret bookcase door reflects the homeowners’ desire to entertain visiting grandchildren, creating a playful space for family. The screened-in deck offers an indoor-outdoor living experience, feeling open yet protected, ideal for enjoying fresh air without exposure.
This home is more than a visual masterpiece; it’s a tailored sanctuary that balances modern elegance with the practical needs of retirement living, ensuring the couple can enjoy their treehouse retreat for years to come.
