We are honored to report that the First Annual Ryan Hendrix Memorial Golf Tournament raised $25,000! These funds were donated to Blue Ridge Community College to support aspiring Public Safety Officers as they complete BLET (Basic Law Enforcement Training). The Hendrix family and the Buchanan Construction team were touched by the outpouring of support from the community, with over 40 local businesses sponsoring  and participating in the tournament.

The event was a reverent celebration in memory of Deputy Ryan Hendrix of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office who gave his life in the line of duty on September 10th, 2020. Participants played a round of golf at Cummings Cove Golf Course and took on the challenge of the longest drive and closest-to-the pin contest. When the rounds were completed, volunteers & players enjoyed a delicious meal & awards ceremony with prizes.

n memory of Ryan Hendrix, proceeds from the event  will support the tuition and living costs of aspiring Public Safety Officers enrolled in the BLET Program at Blue Ridge Community College.
